Database

Coming soon

The main objective of PARAHeB is to analyze the significance and influence of paratexts in understanding and interpreting Hebrew biblical manuscripts. To accomplish this objective, we are currently developing a comprehensive database which will enable users to view all the paratexts identified in a specific manuscript and compare them with other paratexts within the same manuscript or across different manuscripts.

The upcoming database will contain detailed descriptions of a wide range of paratexts, displaying information related to both textual and visual items. Users will be able to choose the characteristics to compare (e.g.: type of relation of the item with the main text, ink color, quality of the script, etc.), and will receive a list of paratexts that match those parameters.

With this tool, we aim to assist researchers and students interested in a deep understanding of paratexts.
